Twitch Streamer Mizkif pioneers “Laden-thon”

Twitch streamers are known for their somewhat wild antics, with streamers like Kai Cenat recently exploding an entire room on stream for the 4th of July. This was then revealed to be a stunt in collaboration with MrBeast, the number one creator on YouTube.

Today, the juggernaut Twitch Streamer and Speedrunner Matthew “Mizkif” Rinaudo announced something equally explosive: A speedrun marathon of all the games found on Osama Bin Laden’s computer the night he was killed in Abbottabad, Pakistan.

“Chat, chat, this is gonna be big. Everyone’s gonna be doing this run,” he said immediately after the announcement trailer, which showcased a compilation of games from his hard drive such as Final Fantasy VII, Yoshi’s Island DS, and Animal Crossing contrasted with repeating shots of the two Boeing planes hitting the North and South Towers in Lower Manhattan on 9/11.

Rinaudo went on to say that you “can only do this run on September 11th or it’s not valid.” This has led to some confusion in the online speedrunning community, as no other speedrun categories require you to play on a certain date.

Many chatters seemed vexed by this announcement from Rinaudo, with some mentioning how controversial a speedrun like this may be, with others outright stating that they won’t be tuning in that day. Others simply stated there were too many games on the list, as Bin Laden was a “massive gamer.”

In response to the outcry from his community, Rinaudo stated that this would all be done with respect to the national tragedy, making it known that he stands on the side of the United States of America, including that his favorite movie is cult classic Zero Dark Thirty. He then proceeded to stand up from his desk, salute the camera, and say “Never Forget— to subscribe with Prime.”

There has been no word on a response from Bin Laden yet.
